LP TOUR Highlights

Berkley Performance Center: Originally the Fenway Theatre, this venue also served as a practice space for Aerosmith before being purchased by Berklee College of music.

Mass Ave: As we venture along Mass Ave, we’ll discuss one of the most important Studios in Boston’s history: Fort Apache. The studio had two primary locations situated at opposite ends of Mass Ave. The Pixies first demo, the Purple Tape was cut at the original location in Roxbury, as was Dinosaur Jr’s….. In 1989, the producers opened a new studio in Cambridge and produced numerous iconic 90’s albums like Buffalo Tom’s, Uncle Tupelo, Hole and Radiohead’s first two albums.

Symphony Hall:  Since its construction in 1900, Symphony Hall has been among the premiere concert halls in the world. While its home to the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Boston Pops, musicians from Duke Ellington to Joe Cocker have graced its stage.

South End: Home to the largest Victorian row house district in the country, the South End has historically been one of the most diverse neighborhoods in Boston with a large African American community. In the first half of the 20th century, numerous jazz clubs filled this neighborhood, and Martin Luther King Jr. lived here while he pursued his doctorate at Boston University. Today, the neighborhood is among the most picturesque in Boston featuring many of the city’s top restaurants and bars.

Boston Tea Party (Original Building) From Led Zeppelin and the Who, to B.B King & the  Velvet Underground, this converted Unitarian meeting house presented some of the most psychedelic concerts of the 60s.

Cyclorama- nestled in Boston's South End, the Cyclorama was Built in 1864 to house a 360 degree painting of the battle of Gettysburg. Today the painting is gone, but artists fill this space and nearby structures as part of the Boston Center for the Arts. In the 80s, the Pixies recorded their 2nd full length album here.
