Hi! My name is Matt and I am the founder of Soundscape Tours. As a local musician, I have a deep appreciation for the cities’ culture and history. For me, the best way to explore a city is through its music. My goal is to promote Boston’s music scene through celebrating the city’s significant impact on jazz, folk, and rock and roll in the 20th century. Whether you’re a longtime resident or visitor, I hope my tour inspires you to check out Boston bands and support live music in Boston and beyond

Since moving here in 2007 I have played in several bands including Mount Peru, Cat Sounds, and the Smallest Town Ensemble. With Mount Peru I had the opportunity to participate in the 2013 Rock N Roll Rumble at the legendary T.T. the Bear’s Place. Happily, we did not win and avoided the Rumble curse!

Most recently, I contributed keys to a track on Kidd Dynamo’s LP “I am Landslide and other Stories” released in 2025 on Belfast’s No Dancing Records. To learn more about Kidd Dynamo, check out this interview with Stephen McCauley on BBC Ulster
